My Reply:
Hi Rachel,
thanks for the nice comments on my products!
There are many reasons the bedding is so expensive.
#1 good quality bedding is expensive.
I use egyptian long staple cotton bedding because it's the best in a very high 320 thread count.
These sheets are not walmart cheapies. This is heirloom quality bedding.
#2 bedding is very difficult to tie dye, it takes a lot of time & space to get it wrapped properly.
It is time consuming to make sure it gets covered with dye properly, but not overly saturated.
People are paying for my expertise in this area.
#3 bedding is big, so it takes a LOT of dye (Procion MX professional dye),
which you know is expensive if you've tie dyed before.
I could dye 60 t shirts in the dye it takes for 1 Queen sheet set.
#4 If you've tie dyed before, then you know I have to hand rinse the bedding before I put it in the washer.
Take a queen size sheet set, & hand rinse it for 5 minutes in the sink,
then lift it into your washer for final washes. not fun.
I am just a small lady, this step is the worst!
#5 Bedding is big. I can wash 20 t shirts in the same water, soap, electricity it takes to do 1 sheet set.
#6 Bedding needs ironed. After I dye it & it has been washed 3 times,
I iron all the bedding pieces, so that when it comes out of the package, it is ready to put on your bed.
Time consuming and not any fun.
#7 I am one of only 3 people I know of on the web that even offers bedding.
#8 bedding is my specialty.
I have spent countless hours working on my website to get pictures of the bedding I do on the website.
I do tons of bedding, & I have tons of pleased customers.
Thanks!
